The Electrical Engineering Technology program at Amankwakrom Fisheries and Agricultural Technology Institute (AFATI) equips learners with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for electrical installation, maintenance, and power system operations. The program focuses on hands on training in wiring, circuit design, renewable energy systems, and electrical safety standards.
Students gain practical experience in both domestic and industrial electrical works, preparing them for roles in construction, manufacturing, energy supply, and maintenance services.
Course Objectives
- Install, test, and maintain electrical systems safely and effectively
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Apply principles of power generation, distribution, and control
- Install and maintain renewable energy systems, including solar setups
- Comply with electrical codes, safety standards, and professional ethics
Course Duration
- Total Duration: 2 years
- Format: Full time
- Structure: Year 1 Electrical theory, safety, and basic installations. Year 2 Advanced systems, renewable energy, and project work
Entry Requirements
- Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) or higher
- Minimum age 16 years
- Medically fit for technical training
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills

Certification
