About the Course

The Fine Arts and Painting Technology program at Amankwakrom Fisheries and Agricultural Technology Institute (AFATI) nurtures creativity and artistic expression through training in drawing, painting, sculpture, and decorative arts. The curriculum builds a strong foundation in traditional and contemporary art forms for professional artistry and creative industries.

Students explore techniques, materials, and media to develop artistic skills and unique styles while learning design principles, color theory, and visual communication.

Course Objectives

  • Produce original artworks using various painting and sculpting techniques

Course Duration

  • Total Duration: 2 years
  • Format: Full time
  • Structure: Year 1 Fundamentals of art, design principles, and basic techniques. Year 2 Advanced painting, sculpture, and project work

Entry Requirements

  • Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) or higher
  • Minimum age 16 years
  • Interest or talent in art and creative design
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Medically fit for studio work

Certification

Upon successful completion of all modules and assessments, participants receive the National Proficiency I and II Certificate in Fine Arts and Painting Technology, accredited by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) under the Ghana TVET Service (GTVET).
