Owuredu Godwin: A Story of Resilience and Transformation at AFATI

Owuredu Godwin: A Story of Resilience and Transformation at AFATI

At the Amankwakrom Fisheries and Agricultural Technical Institute (AFATI), every student is given the opportunity to develop their full potential, regardless of their background or physical challenges. One shining example of this is Owuredu Godwin, a proud student of the Computer Hardware and Software Department, currently in Form Two.

When Godwin first arrived at AFATI, he came with a motor disability that made movement and participation in classroom activities quite difficult. Many would have expected this challenge to limit his ability to excel, but at AFATI, his story took a different turn.

Through the inclusive support system of the school, ranging from dedicated teachers, peer encouragement, and tailored interventions. Godwin gradually gained confidence and the ability to actively take part in both theoretical and practical sessions. Today, he is not only keeping pace with his colleagues but also excelling in his field, showing that disability is not inability when the right environment is provided.

Looking into the future, Godwin dreams of establishing his own printing shop, where he hopes to apply his technical skills to create employment opportunities for himself and others. His determination reflects the spirit of AFATI: nurturing dreams and shaping futures.

Godwin’s story serves as a powerful inspiration to all. He strongly recommends AFATI as the right environment for students with disabilities, emphasizing that here, every student is supported to grow, develop, and achieve their dreams.
